The Lexis Nexis Total Practice Solution

Much like the Microsoft Office suite, Lexis Nexis have released the Total Practice Solution which is a suite of products that you can almost entirely run your law firm on. The technology platorm encompasses all of your day to day tasks, from bring up dates and file tracking to document assembly and automated billing. There are two major parts to the platform, being "Front Office" and "Back Office".

Front Office Powered by Time Matters

The Front Office is essentially Time Matters 9 rebranded to a new name and logo. However, "essentially" is not "is". Out of the box, Front Office will seamlessly integrate with:

  • Back Office powered by PCLaw
  • Back Office powered by Billing Matters
  • CaseMap
  • NetDocuments
  • LexisNexis CourtLink
  • HotDocs
  • Numerous other programs such as PDA management applications, palm pilots, QuickBooks and so forth

Front Office features all of the functionality and flexibility you'd expect from Time Matters, but with tighter integration options available.

Back Office Powered by Billing Matters

Again, Back Office is essentially Billing Matters rebranded to a new name and logo, but designed and integrated 100% with Front Office out of the box. For anyone who is familiar with Billing Matters, the following features will not surprise you:

  • Bill Profiles & Bill Designer
  • Bill Express
  • Payment & transaction tracking with on-demand checks
  • PayFlow Manager
  • Account reconciliations
  • Full financial reporting

The Back Office powered by Billing Matters will also easily integrate with the popular accounting packages QuickBooks. As an alternative, if you're not comfortable with Billing Matters, you can opt to have your Back Office powered by PCLaw.

Back Office Powered by PCLaw

The popular PCLaw product can also be used as a back end to power your Front Office. With all the usual features one would expect, this provides a simple option for PCLaw users to upgrade their front office without going through the headaches and hassles of migrating accounting databases.
